Anti-wrinkle injections relax muscles that cause your skin to wrinkle and crease. Commonly used to soften existing wrinkles or to prevent lines from forming, it is an amazing treatment to treat crow’s feet, expression lines, widened jawline, gummy smile and dimpled chin.

The injection creates a barrier between the muscle and nerve ending and relaxes the muscle to prevent further creasing. It may be used in conjunction with Dermal Filler Treatment to achieve the best outcome for your concerns.

WHAT DOES THE PROCESS ENTAIL?

You will be seen by either a Doctor or Registered Nurse for your initial consultation, where you will receive a treatment plan and some advice regarding the best outcome for your concerns.

Photographs will be taken for treatment progress and ice packs or topical aesthetic may be administered for numbing the area. The procedure usually takes around 10-15 minutes where an injection with a fine needle injects small volumes of fluid into muscles.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

Anti-Wrinkle Injections last around 3-4 months, with lines and wrinkles appearing softer.

Muscles start to contract around 4-6 weeks post treatment, repeated injections to maintain muscle relaxation and preventative treatment will be advised by your practitioner.

IS IT PAINFUL?

Patients report a slight prick or stinging sensation which is usually reduced by an icepack, however the procedure is usually painless.

IS IT PREGNANCY SAFE?

No, it is not recommended Anti-Wrinkle Injections be administered during pregnancy or breastfeeding

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Following your anti-wrinkle injections normal activities may be resumed. However, avoid strenuous exercise and the consumption of alcohol for 24 hours. There may be a little redness or swelling in the treatment area that should go down in 24 hours.

Ice may be applied to the treatment area to help swelling and bruising. Avoid strenuous exercise and heat (LED, saunas etc.) for 24 hours, avoid laying face down, avoid makeup for 12 hours after treatment, do not touch or massage the area for 24 hours and no facial treatments such as peels or laser for 2 weeks.
