LASER TATTOO REMOVAL
Tattoos are created by injecting ink particles into the dermis. Tattoo removal by laser light works by shattering the ink particles into smaller particles which get absorbed & removed through the lymphatic system.
The number of treatments required will depend on how much ink is in the skin.

To allow the skin enough time to heal between treatments and the body's immune system to flush away ink, we recommend a minimum of six weeks between laser sessions – and eight weeks for darker complexions

WHAT DOES THE PROCESS ENTAIL?
A consult will be needed with our laser technician so they can chat you through treatment expectation, determine suitability and discuss the treatment with you.
During the treatment the laser will be held up next to the skin where it will deliver laser energy into the skin via short pulses. This treatment causes the skin to look “frosted”, a side effect of the laser treatment that will only last temporarily.
It is not uncommon to experience purpura (bruising under skin from blood vessels) especially if you have a sensitive skin type. After completion our tehcnician will apply a soothing ointment, and will then apply a dressing to the treatment area.
DOES IT HURT?
The method of pain maintenance varies from person to person, depending on the patient’s level of pain tolerance. We can include a topical anaesthetic such as a numbing cream, or simply ice packs and post treatment cooling used to numb the treatment area.
IS THERE DOWNTIME?
While each treatment may lead to minor swelling and redness, the downtime is typically less than five days.
