Highly controlled pulses of light are emitted with the IPL handpiece from a smooth, transparent Light Guide and are selectively absorbed by the hair follicles lying below the surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair, which damages the re-growth potential of the follicle – all without damaging the surrounding tissue.

WHAT DOES THE PROCESS ENTAIL?
Our therapist will put a pair of safety glasses on to protect your eyes, a cool gel is applied to the skin being treated. The IPL wand is then gently applied to your skin and creates a slightly warm sensation. Sometimes you may feel a quick sensation similar to the flick of a rubber band.
After your treatment, the gel is removed from your skin, which is then cleaned with a warm cloth. This is followed by an application of moisturizer containing sunscreen. If you experience any swelling or discomfort, you may receive a cold pack to hold on the skin for a few minutes.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Depending on the area, between 6-8 treatments. After this you may need to have 1-2 top up appointments in the year to maintain the hair growth.
IS IT PREGNANCY SAFE?
We advise all our pregnant or lactating clients to wait until they have finished breast feeding before commencing laser & IPL hair removal
